Subject: So frustrating
  Hi All:

My application is in process since Dec 2003 at Buffalo. AOR Jan 04 and medicals Sept 04 (expiring after 18 days).

CIC replied me that they are waiting for background info. However, from my caips notes I found that my bchk was completed in Nov 04 but they did not even initiate bchk for my wife until April 05. They did not even bother to look at my file before replying. In June 05, I contacted a top level politician in Canada and requested to give a buzz to CIC about my wife´s bchk. They assured me that they will follow up the case. It is more then three months since then and there is no word from Buffalo.

our study/work permits are expiring end of next month and I will be completing my studies (PhD) by end of this year. I have already informed Buffalo about these facts.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

PS: We lived in our home country India since birth before coming to Canada three years ago.

how many months after medical your background checks were over?
Im in the same position, no clue when BDEC will be over.

Please let us know when ur BDEC start and finish.

Students in canada are taking a beating.

I dont think too much faxing and making MPs buzz them will help. Just wait patiently and pray.

I know how it feels, my AOR is July 2004, this year maybe PPR.

my BDEC 1/4/2005
SEC 1/4/2005
medical M01 ...waiting.

Hi Issabella:

Thanks for your response. Entries in the caips notes are very clear. In my case, the bchk was completed in about two months time. The only concern is my wife´s bchk - until I received my caips notes in April 05, there was no entry about her bchk.

The relevant entries in the caips file are:

Bchk sent electonically for PI : Sept XXXX
Bchk received for PI : Nov XXXX.

No entry about the spouse.

My SEC code was 1 and it was 3 for my wife.

Hopefully, they are doing some thing after I explained them by fax.

Well, there is no end to praying - never imagined it will take so long after getting an interview waiver in July 2004.

Only once. I applied in March and got it in April - it took exactly 30 days.

I am sure you will get your caips notes soon and may be the PP request too.
