| Subject: Marriage in the USA recognized in Canada? |

Upon much deliberation I have found that getting married in the USA produces a marriage certificate MUCH faster (same day). Now my question is this...
Does Ontario (or any Province for that matter) recognize marriages that took place in the USA without question? Additionally, do I have to register it in Ontario?
I called CIC and they said ´yes´ they recognize it and that to send the photo copy of the marriage certificate with my PR application packet. BUT we all know the mixed answers we receive when we call CIC. I don´t want to have them end up sending it back to me saying I must register it with the Province first.
Surely there are people who have gone through the same thing... All I need is a short answer... please........
