Subject: .. When I applied for PR I was taking French ...
.. When I applied for PR I was taking French class and I assumed I would learn atleast some basic level of French so I claimed that know basic French. Now it seems to me that I didn´t learn that much to claim the points for that. I should qualify for 67 points if they accept my 16 points claim in English proficiency which I´m assuming they should. In that case will they catch me for claming points on French Languge Proficiency category which I should not have? I am assuming if I get 67 without considering points from French Language Category... they should not do anything negative against my application.

Please make me clear in that matter.

Thankx

They will most probably ask you to take TEF (Test d?Evaluation de Fran?ais) to prove your proficiency in french. If you dont provide them the score they will not give you any points.

If you native language is not English I strongly recommend that you take IELTS.

I agree. if you 67 points is hinging on a full 16 for english- do not risk the chance that they do not give you full points.

I agree with Sharon.

I claimed French points, but don´t really need them because of other factors. I didn´t take the TEF because it would require a couple hundred bucks and a weekend in Chicago, the nearest testing place. Plus, I have a BA in French, and am a French teacher, so I assume it wouldn´t be a problem to claim a modest amount of points.

If the required points hinge on the French, take the TEF, otherwise, wait for them to contact you for further clarification.
