Hello Riadh
The letter was clear (Bring with you a translator inorder to translate if you don´t speak English) so if you do speak English don´t worry about it... it is only if ..and it has nothing to do with Iraq or anything like that,,
Take care
Adam

when you filled out your skilled worker application, you were asked about french or english fluency. I know it is worth almost 25% of the total available points towards immigration. It is very important that you show fluency in one or both languages. Can you do this? My fiance is from Tunisia and he can show 100% fluency in french so this has helped his points very much. It is very hard to get a pass mark without some fluency in french or english. The tests they suggest are very important to show this proficiency.

The wait you are experiencing has more to do with how many people in your region are applying to immigrate through a particular Embassy, not what your nationality you are. I am sure you can see from this forum how many people are trying to call Canada home. Yes, the government is being very careful about immigration from the middle east... it is a sad reality that our world is facing. A few making it very hard for everyone else. It does not seem fair. My arab fiance´s application will probably take less that one year because there are not many applications from this area. If you are trying to come from India or China, you will see from peoples postings that the wait is 3-5 years! I very long time to wait.

A small story for you about being Arab... your situation is not new. 60 years ago my father wanted to marry a girl who was a child of a german immigrant. Her family had lived in Canada since 1915. The government (air force) told my father that he could not marry the girl because she was "German". Fortunatly, my father did not listen and married her anyway. I am happy he did.
