Subject: hit a baby deer
Just finished swimming in Departure Bay, not too many people, and ocean water is a little bid cold. Ride my bike home, there is a jaywalk baby deer, I lost control my bicycle, knock down a baby deer, I broken my brake cable, baby deer seemed that she didn??t hurt at all.

It estimated that there are more than 1k deer in my area. In Cedar area, south of Nanaimo, remote house, if you don??t lock your windows, baby bear will break into your kitchen and search for food. Actually my kitchen gardens always got destroy by deer. They are so cute; you just can??t believe it??s true that you live in such environment.

Wonder how Canada can do excellent job in the environment protect, it might be too crazy to tell you that I often meet deer and bear in my community, I believe nobody believes me.

Thanks DB for such "beautiful" posts. Your posts break the monotony of queries and responses.....and our wait becomes more bearable thinking about what lies ahead. I feel half your struggles in life are conquered if u live in a beautiful, clean, unpolluted environment. There r many things that u guys can take for granted. In the part of the world that I belong to, even receiving clean drinking water or uninterrupted power supply can be too much to expect from the goverment. When I wake up in the morning, I worry not about my future but whether I´ll be able to check my mail on the PC or if I´d be able to switch on the AC or use my washing machine or wud we have dinner in candle light. Here if it rains (or even drizzles) the power promptly vanishes.(power woes!!). All this after paying nearly 30% in taxes !!

Take care and keep writing !

let me guess...dusk when all the deer come out to graze at the side of the road that is bordering housing and wooded areas.

We have a saying around here... you look as stunned as a deer in the headlights.

My best buddy took my Honda Civic into northern BC to pick something up. around that time of night he encountered Bambie steping out onto the road. Colision occured. Guess who won. Deer. My civic was totalled.

Yup, I believe him.
