Continuing this discussion, I would not say, that 2003 cases were processed really quickly, at least not our´s. May be it is an exception (AOR Nov. 03, 2003) and background checking was initiated in March 2005 (from CAIPS) only. Adding possible 6-9 months for it, it gives us Sept-Dec.2005, we are almost there....
21 months is along wait indeed...And tuitions for 2 family members....

AOR April 2004 was going fairly fast? My AOR is Mar 2004 and I am still waiting for PPR, The reasons? May be I applied for all my family members, or we did medicals seperately (mine in Canada and other family memebers in my home country)? Who knows!

OK, I will be ordering the 2nd caips tomorrow even though the 1st one hasn´t arrived yet (my order reached at Ottawa on July4).

I am just wondering any possible reasons for CIC to delay the processing if everything is clear?

nice to see alot of good participation everyday. keeps us going and hopeful.

Anyways from what I have observed In Canada Students who apply with family took longer timelines over the last year.

No definate reasons for this delay. Nothing can explain whats going on, there is no algorithm showing any kind for tendency with PPR.

To LongWait:
It strange, that you did not get CAIPS yet. For us it took a month, but it really means that you probably will get it during this week. In case that you are expecting to get your CAIPS soon, do not order the new one yet, because if it will come in a week or so, it must include an information about the acceptance of your medicals and possibly PPR. Because the medicals´ approval in general means the end of background checking. After you´ll get the first one, order the second the next day (or you might not need to do it, :))
Anyway, that´s my suggestions.
Good luck to you and keep in touch.

About waiting.......--> one more term and I´ll need to see psychiatrist (may be should not wait that long, or it will get to the incurable stage, :)) )
Hope for best, that it (PPR) will come to the end this year, but "you never know". :)

Thanks, hell.

We have been waiting for months and months. One more week for caips does not really matter. I am expecting the 1st one this week.

Yesterday, one friend of mine told me: his labmate got the letter of PPR in July exactly when his medicals would expire, without need of 2nd madicals. YOu should be fine!

I really hope, we all will be fine and better sooner than later and will remember this period of waiting not as a nightmare, but a little bit complicated period of life.
Bwst wishes.
:)
