My reasons to aspire to be a Canadian are:
1) To give my kids a bright future, a Canadian degree coupled with passport will go a long way for them.
2) Like the easy going Canadian life style.
3) Get a life for me and my family.
4) Work in an environment where there is dignity of labour and law that can protect us.
5) Not worry about getting killed or my house or business burnt down because of who we are.
6) Hassle free travel with Canadian passport.
7) Love the fresh air and natural beauty.More medical benifits than USA.
8) Canada has draw backs so does my country too, it?s a question of trade off.

thanks for expressing personal opinion!!
8 points can be squeezed into 3 points.
point 1,2,3,6 are almost same as its entirely personal or family related!!
7) Fresh air is also available in Africa,pakistan or india!!
5) Who guarantees whom to protect life for every moment except you are a top notch politician or president or have ur own security device. Its personal luck whether someone will die naturally or by accident or by disease.
Now my opinion why one should settle in canada:
1. Overall a fair neat and clean country although has rough cold weather (for good weather one can goto Australia or NZ)
2. Most of the people are good and freindly nature, as all the people who are admitted has good police record in their native country. Still less criminal activities than most other developed countries like USA, UK, Italy.
4. A country with very low population but huge natural resources unused. Eventually peace must exist!!!
5. Having a wealthy and powerful neighbour like US provides additional advantage to its citizen having passport.
6.I admire the education provided by their university and also the canadian govt. for giving huge financial support for undergraduate education through loan and graduate research program. Its a good way to survive by studying for the new PR.

What is with everyone saying Canada has rough weather.....
Do you people live in Canada????
All summer it has been over 30 degrees celcius where I live. You know it does not snow in summer.....
The winters are winters. We get minus temperatures and we get snow. It is not that bad. Buy a nice winter jacket and some gloves, a toque and some boots and you will be fine.
I get sick of people trashing the weather.
IT is a great country and the weather makes it greater!

yep, same as Nanaimo, rain for the whole night, I had a great dream!!!! I miss rain so much, you know what? my area has water restriction right now, only can water my garden (my landlord´s garden, she never takes care of, I do almost all yardwork)once a week
