Subject: I'm Refugee, Invitation Letter?
I´m a refugee from Mexico in Toronto. My parents will come to see me,we haven´t seen eachother 3 yrs. People say they should not mention my name at the Immigration desk because as soon as they find out about me, they will put them in a room, ask them many questions and put them back to mexico on the next Airplane. I have a Native canadian friend who will invite them over. Do my parents need an INVITATION LETTER? Is it truth a lawyer or public notary has to seal it. (they charge lots for those). IF it is truth what this letter most contain? Is it truth they will check on my friend´s credit to find out IF he/she can be responsible for this person for the period of staying time ?
Help me to clear out my doubts please.

your parents will require visitors visas to come to Canada. CIC website has good information on what you should do but be sure they must prove they will go back to Mexico. If there is one word that you are in Canada illegal, CIC will guess that your parents will not go home either.

What do you do to change your status? Why are you in Canada illegally?

my mother came from europe croatia
Your friend who is going to invite them need to have a profe of income because they whant prufe that your parents will not go on welfer and if somthing hapend to them while they are in canada, that your friend have inaf mony to pay for ther expences
maiby is diferent for yor parents you need to call visa office in mexico and ask what is required for somebody to came to canada and they will explaned to you.
dont tell that you are illigal in canada yust ask general questions

Sharon, don´t make gossips, please. where did you take this from? ..........I AM NOT ILLEGAL in Canada!!!!
I have all my papers CLEAN and in ORDER.
All I am is a Refugee in this Country.I work very hard from 8 to 8, sometimes,I pay my taxes and I do volunteering once in a while. My request to this forum was about my parents to come and visit ME, because it seems to be a SIN to be a refugee, specially from Mexico,as people think everything is FIESTA and PINATAS there...THere is CRIME,RAPE,DRUGS,HUNGER,POORNESS...only few people live well....Last night, my parents and I we have decided. they are not coming Anymore...it is TOO much trouble. One day we will be reunited. Thanks, Dragana, I wish you the best. Thanks Sharon you too.

the way you posted your question, it sounded like you were in Canada without status. my apologies.

whoever invites your parents, must prove they can look after them, and provide good reason that they are coming. your parents in turn must prove them will go home.

do not feel singled out about being from Mexico. my fiance has been refused a visitors visa 4 times, and there are others here who have similar stories.

Give the visitors visa a try. the worst that can happen is that CIC says no.

Any kind of documents showing that they are going to leave Canada at the end of their visit , such as house owner certificate , proof that they still employed etc.(translate it in english)
Mexicans do not need visitor?s visa anyways , so that is a one step less.

I don?t see why you can?t invite them though , if you have a legal status in Canada as you said , shouldn?t be a problem.
A word of caution though if you invite them your PARENTS MUST proof at the port of entry that they are not in the same condition you were , and they will be asked to provide several "proofs" that they won?t stay in Canada.
