Could anybody please tell me what medical benefits newly landed immigrants are entitled? My husband and I had our medical just last week. I am pregnant and due to give birth on March. Will I be entilted to free medical if we arrive in Canada 2 months before my delivery date ?

Where are you landing?
Ontario has a three month wait.

If you are immigrating to any of these provinces, you should get private, short-term health-care insurance for the the first three months. Insurance companies are listed in the Yellow Pages of all Canadian telephone books, under "Insurance"

Our destinaton is Ontario, so that means a 3 month waiting period.
Departure Bay, what is a bridge insurance? Does it cover delivery ? How much more or less does the insurance cost ?
