small. It is not one of BC´s strongest communities. I would want to know I had a job there before I move my family.

that´s right, this is same town like Nanaimo, Qualicam beach, retire heaven.
You know what?I have been there several times, just go to check out Air Show. They got cool air show every Aug 7.
Snow bird, F-16, cool!!!!
their bar is sux, almost no chicks hang out at night, not like Victoria.
However, house is not cheap, average house over there is more than 270,000.
Most of buying market is from Alberta, States, Okanagan areas.

Comox vs Prince George?
I am still concerned about the quality of education over there, I mean high school. I could not find details from website. There is a college "North Island College". How well is it?
DB, you are close to Comox. Is it easy to relocate from there?
Sure, I will have a very stable job there. But I may be sticking on a wrong direction because I am always dreaming to work in a hospital and this way may leave me a hope to practice medicine in Canada in future. Currently I am doing research work.

I would pick PG over Comox. Comox is a military town and that is about it. PG has a more diverse economy with a bigger population.
I doubt that there are any research jobs in Comox. Vancouver is the place for reseach.

yep, if you wanna do research, Vancouver, but Comex Valley and Prince George, I will pick up PG.
if you need relocate to Comex, you have to take ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo, which is my place, and another 2 hour drive from my Nanaimo to Comex.
Hey, winter is nice over Comex, they got Mt.Washington,
Ski resort. It´s not as crowed as Mt, Groose or Whislter,but for sure good pack of snow.
except Ski and Air force, there are nothing over there

You are right, sharon.
I am leaving research area soon after I get my immigrant visa since I am tired of research and stress. I will do a regular full-time job in my professionals. However, it is so hard to compete a Canadian to get your first job in a hospital in big city for a new immigrant. I have to start from a town or remote area if I insist on working in a hospital.
The weather in Comox is pretty than PG, right? Also it is easier to relocate from Comox than PG. Please advice!
DB, why is expense for house in such a small town?
I still have time to make my mind clear.

because of good weather, baby boom generation wanna retire here. A lot of German,Dutch, U.S, and Alberta, Ontario residents relocated here for retirment or gateway in summer. whole average Vancouer Island house is more expensive than Ottawa.
Even Jame Carry,Bono(U2) got house in Nanaimo.
We used to think million dollars house only in West Van,it happens in here right now, house price is crazy.
Comex is not a small town, they got all big boxes.
