To Yijie(DB), Sharon, Adrian, Dave and others:
I am planning to land in Canada during Sept. I am still undecided about the place (not landing but establishing)...too many to choose from that I have little info about. Can you guys give me some feelers?? Which kind of places would be good to start with.

In my family, I have a small kid, 2 yrs old and would like to consider this a priority. Both of us are biologists (researchers). Any useful suggestions?
I would initially prefer to live in suburb or smaller city with reasonable living cost, friendly neighbourhood, nicer community and good amneties. I also read that it may not be easy to find jobs that match our current profiles...... that I do not fully agree with. However, will appreciate your time and kind suggestions.

Thanks again. In the meantime, let me wish all of you and others good luck and success.

Calgary or Edmonton won´t be a bad choice. Alberta has a huge economic boom in recent years, thanks to the oil and gas industry.

I am in engineering and have no clue about the job prospects for biologists.

Thx Kool, I presume you are from India too. We are looking at several places where we could establish. Professional career in Biology would be the first choice.

Thanks again.

Calgary or Edmonton would be good choices. But if you are looking for a slightly warmer climate, then Toronto or Vancouver would be good. In all honesty, you will have trouble finding jobs in your field of work. You can only hope for the best but expect the worst. You might want to try finding employment with a university. I dont know what more to suggest. Good Luck!

Thanks for the feeler Adrian. Yes, am aware of the job situation. My friends in biology that are employed in Canada tell me more about. I understand your response, thanks v. much.

Yes, I do see unanimous vote for Calgary or Edmonton.

Best regards
