Subject: Medical exam for immigartion
  Hi,

I´m new to this forum and hope to get answer for my question. I recently did my medicals with one of the DMP for immigartion here in Canada. Except one comment on the physical exam the doctor didn´t call or tell me anything about my x-ray and lab results. Can I assume that my results are okay? What if they discover something I didn´t know, will he report the result to Ottawa without notifying me??

Your response is appreciated!!

Hi,

DMP is NOT SUPPOSE TO SAY A WORD ABOUT RESULTS. That is the breach of confidentiality of Canadian Immigration process.

Normally, if you do not receive any request for additional test in 3 months then one can assume that medical is OK.

As I just mentioned, if Ottawa finds something suspecious, CIC would request you additional tests.

Sunrap,

Thanks for your replay. Mine was done about two and half months ago and I?m still waiting response from the CIC. But your response prompts me another question.

I know the decision is to be made by the medical officer in Ottawa and/or the CIC to deny or grant a visa based on the medical results.

But my question is:

Doesn?t the DMP have ethical responsibility to tell the applicant if he/she has, say, some infectious or communicable disease immediately regardless of the immigration process? The DMP can report his findings and comments and the applicant can be denied visa but isn?t the applicant and canadians? safety at stake here?

Mostly, if u did not recive any furthur medical test from ur doctor before sending report to CIC or withing 30 to 45 days from CIC, one can asume he/she is cleared in medical exams.

Hi TG,

DMP is abide by the confidentiality law.

If the applicant or dependant have any serious problems with the health then it will be scanned by Ottawa medical office. They give a fair chance to the applicant by recommending additional test/s. After that, if it is found hazardous to the Canadian people applicant will be put under either surveillance or denied.

Moreover, it is not DMP´s jurisdiction to decide who´s admissible and who´s not. That is why there is no ethical point about DMP´s judgement. Whoever is pausing threat to canadian population will be eliminated or put under intensed observation.

To all,

How about my case? the DMP submitted my physical exam´s result on Aug 3, 2004. I traced lately that the manager´s checque I paid for the Right for Permanent Residency fee was negotiated/encashed by the Canadian Embassy last August 6, 2004. Also, just last week, I got a letter from Embassy dated Aug 21, 2004 requesting me to obtain police certificates from the countries I lived for more than six months. No medical examination results or advice were mentioned in the letter. Can I assume that my medical exam results pass their requirement? Your inputs will be appreciated. Thanks.

Medical Report Expiry Date (in reply to: Medical exam for immigartion)
Hi,

I received the happy news that I will be issued a parmanent resident visa but I was also informed that my medical exam date is due to expiry by 14 October as I am currently living out of Canada I am concerned whether this can cause any problems for me.
I am thinking of passing through a new medical report but a hospital I contacted in my country informed me that I will need some legal papers with an address on for tem to send the results. Does anybody knows where I can get them from?

Thanks

Hi everyone! I´m too new to this forum, and there is my question. I´m a PR sponsoring my husband whom I´ve been married to for five years. He had a syphilis desease about 8 years ago, which has been completely cured back then. But, as known, despite my husband´s fine condition today, VDRL test, the one that is required in the immigration medical exam, will always show positive, no matter how long ago the problem had been solved. Might this become the reson for my sponsorship being denied? Thank you all.
