I am not sure I understand the question. You fill out the forms with the statement of your common law relationship. Later they will mail you a form about the partnership. You sign that form before a notary public. The notary public only vouches for the fact you are the person who is signing. Unlike a civil law country, they do not vouch for the accuracy of the statements.

Do I have to prove we live together as show the copy of the rent?So you mean I just fill the forms and do not need any practical thing to prove it?

yes. If you are applying as skilled worker and you wish to bring your partner with you, there is an obligation on your part to prove the relationship is valid. If you are in a country where gay marriage is ilegal you must show that the person you wish to accompany you to Canada fits all the same criteria as a spouse. rent, phone bills etc. but you are unable to be married because of your countries laws.
If you are sponsoring your gay partner, the same applies.
In theory, the sponsored party, or partner of SW principle applicant gets a get into Canada free ticket in terms of qualifications. Be sure that CIC wants to know that they are not allowing entry to someone who does not qualify.

Rogers, what is the question? Like you, I applied as a skilled worker and I filled up my partner as a common spouse. Try to acquired the necessary documents for you and your partner and all the necessary documents that are needed in the forms and send it.
