Did you look into the compatibility of video broadcast systems?

for example it is NTSC in the USA and PAL or SECAM in other parts of the world. Also voltage is at 60Hz in US/Canada and 50Hz rest of the world.

For DVDs North America is region 1. these will not play on players made for asia. On the other hand if are bringing DVDs from pakistan you will have to make sure they will play on players made for Canada/US.

Could someone correct me if I am wrong.

DVDS are coded for 6 different world regions...if you look at the back of a DVD there should be a marking somewhere with a 1 to 6.....some DVDs will play in all regions, though. They are labelled for ALL regions.
I recently discovered some good news. I have a DVD player bought in Canada (region 1) and I have a huge collection of DVDS from Poland (region 2) and I tried a Polish DVD for fun and it worked. I also have one DVD from China (region 6) and it worked......I got lucky....multi region DVD player.

Thanks Thu & Rachunek,

I have checked the back covers of DVD´s and have found out that they are "Region 1 - NTSC, This disc is compatible with all DVD players displaying these symbols authorized use in the U.S and Canada".

If that is the case, then I think theres no harm in bringing it over there and utilizing it. Cheers!
