Sharon ...I had posted the following but got no replies for anyone so decided to address you personally..
I an a new immigrant and would land in toronto on the 25th aug and would return back on the 30th aug.I was looking for temp accomodation and safehomestay is fully booked...I have a choice between sunnnynewcomer(located in don mills rd in finch ave and don mills rd in eglinton ave) and darry guest house(they have in 2 locations too...1 in finch ave east and don mills rd and another in finch ave east and victoria park ave).Kindly do let me know which is more convinient and better in terms of safety, access to local amenities,SIN office and access to shopping malls ,supermarkets ,restaurants etc)..also where it is reasonable to buy food since I need to either eat out or prepare my own food as its not available in the accomodation...also is it ok to show my proof of funds in UK ?? in my UK bank a/c since I donot have a canadian bank a/c...can I tell the officer at the airport that I could transfer the funds once I have my local bank a/c....Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thank You..

I have no idea. I live at the other end of the country.

If you are landing, you must bring your funds with you. travellers cheques, draft or cash. I would suggest TC.

Over all Toronto is a safe place to live and since you are coming for only 5 days so there should not be a problem for you. I have lived in Toronto and i went there for a visit. Although its an expensive place to live but again i would say 5 days should not be an issue. You can even live in a motel, and motels usually are not fully booked. Don mills area is actually a little low class area but still security is not an issue. I hope this satisfy your query. Thanks
