Dear,

The whole process is about you immigrating to Canada and making it your home, not to go back to UK for whatever reasosns. So for the officers and the system, you are getting into Canada for good.

The systems is a system, you have to show proof of funds at the landing port.

SALEH is right......you have to show them you have the funds when you land. Sorry but those are the rules!

Good luck!

In my application I stated that I have liquid funds to the tune of $30k Cad, but the immigration officer just saw the paper and returned it back to me saying that they dont require it.

Now on PR papers, there is place where available funds have to be shown to immigration official at port of landing.

My question is that should I write and prove $30,000 while the official requirement for a family of 3 is around $15,000?

Thanks for help!

hi Salman,
You need to have proof for the required amount, CAD15.8k for a family of three. They don´t care of you have 30 or 100. Make sure you are able to carry convincing proof of funds. It helps avoid commotion.

I also have similar queries, and have been following the replies. Finally, I am clear. Thanks to Saleh too. I have planned to carry around CAD 3-5k in cash, and the rest 10-12 or more (!!) in the form of Travellers cheques. All of them can be declared at the landing port. That should solve the fund issue.

Relax and have a nice time. Wishing you bests for a new life......
