(in reply to: homework part two) I think we can all agree that all the basic info needed is all on the gov´t website. I´m taking a guess though, that not everyone understands the legal jargon in which the info is presented. Lets not fool ourselves, every single sentence is loaded with meaning and yet quite specific. A lawyer has definately gone through and closed any and all loopholes. I believe this forum is the place where this specific and yet meaning laden info can be discussed further and clarified. After all, for most immigrants English or French is a second language.

(in reply to: homework part two) They test everything in blood...including HIV/AIDS, HEP C and all those other nasty things.....they are very thorough.
They will ask you many many many health related questions, too.
It is long day of fun!

(in reply to: homework part two) Sure I remember, it´s only been a couple of days :)
In your urine they are looking for endosperms and sugar level. In your blood, they are looking for HIV and sexual transmissible diseas.
That´s it.

(in reply to: homework part two) The best place to find answers is CIC´s FAQ´s loaded with scenarios we get on this forum and they provide very clear answers. No real legalese involved.

to John (in reply to: homework part two) John, what can I tell you... our world is a disaster. Looks like we are back to square one because of documents being stolen and deadlines being missed. It is too long and too ugly to get into. I told a bit of the story on some previous threads. Now processing time has tripled. I am hoping some kind soul at CIC will read my heart wrenching cover letter and cut us a favour.
Right now we can´t even get new application documents out of the country without them being intercepted. I am planning to go there in December. I may have to physically take the documents out of the country in my suitcase.

(in reply to: homework part two) Sharon, I took my application in personally. It took me about 30 minutes and the whole process is happening in a very unpersonal way.You might try to arrange a meeting with a real person over there, explaining your situation. You , as a Canadian citizen, should have that right ( they do work over there thanks to YOUR tax money anyway )
And...hey...and if in Paris you might as well have a good time.

(in reply to: homework part two) first hurdle is to get the documents into my hands - one way or another. We have to get the CIC process out of the reach of his postal/courier system.
