  Hi Everyone,

We are almost at the end of the term but nothing seems to move.

The same mundane phrase " IN Process - we started your application in July 04"

Post your comments.

Every single month without PPR , one gets closer to Expiry of Medicals.

Issabella

BTW sorry to be negative but sometimes I just cant contain myself

Hi Issabella:

There is no change in the e-client today even though I got the phone call from Buffalo on Friday.

I hope they will process my application this week and send the PPR soon. As my study permit is expiring on Sept 30, I am in a real tight situation to land by that time.

I am as surprised as you.

In my opinion, your timeline is too early to disturb them now. Just wait and you will get your PPR in a couple of months.

FYI, my AOR is Jan 04.

To Kool:
can you tell me what exactly did you write in your faxes to Buffalo? We would really appreciate it.

To everybody: What would be your suggestions?
Our medicals expire in 18 days and I don´t really know, should we send enquiry letter (or fax) to them or should wait till the medical expiration date (Sept. 10th), because our BFD´s Sept. 13th, 3 days after medicals expire? Should we bother them (CIC) or wait and it will become clear by itself? And in that sence, do we need to order the CAIPS now or wait for a week and send the request then?
To remind:
AOR- Nov., 2003 (SW, 2 family members, both PhD students, for my husband it´s a second PhD, and he plans to graduate before the end of this year)
Med., add. document, ROLF- Sept. 2004,
Nothing since then.
For none of our friends it took that long after the medicals (even thought we both got M01).
Thanx

CIC replied me in April that they are waiting for the bchk results.

From my caips notes I found that my bchk was completed in Nov 2004 and it took about one month. But as there was no entry about my wife´s bchk, I was pretty sure that they forget to initiate about my wife´s bchk. I pointed out to CIC in July 2005 about this. Also I mentioned about the expiry of study and work permits and medicals. I enclosed a letter from my supervisor that I will be completing my PhD by end of this year. And it worked for me.

But to be honest, I was also very much surprised getting the phone call.

My suggestion is do not apply for caips now. Wait for some more time - your bf´d is on Sept 13 and I am sure they will take some action soon, mainly because your medicals are expiring.

Kool,
Thank you very much for you reply, I think we´ll follow your advise and will wait for 2 more weeks and after that will send the CAIPS.
We approached the point that we are so desperate to do whatever to get PPR. It takes so long...it is unbearable...
we´ll see what will follow, and in a month will send the letter from husband´s supervisor. I think that would be the best strategy right now.
And good luck to everybody.

Issabella, just one question. Are you applying as a single applicant? Do you have a spouse or dependants? Just trying to ascertain if the background check wait is shorter if you are a single applicant with no spouse or dependants. Thanks for your help.

You said " none of our friend had such a delay after medicals"

Please let me know how long did they take after medicals to get PPR, i assume that most of them had interveiw waviers.

And something really important for all incanada students; a senior immigration consultant was clear in indicating that most PPRs should come in sept, oct, nov......Christmas and the new year will be really slow for PPR.

For several people I know it took 5-7 months to get PPR after medicals and most of them applied as SW+family members.
