Subject: Hong kong office
I have applied in April/May 2000 under Independant (now Skilled Worker)Category at the Hong Kong´s office of Canadian Immigration and my application is still under process. My attorney did recieve a notice for me to fill out forms and provide proof of language proficiency plus police clearance certificates from all the countries where i have resided for over six months. The deadline given was six months (i,e Nov, 2003) to provide all the additional documents. In september 2003, the Minister of Canada Immigration and Citizenship announced that applicants who applied before Jan 1, 2001 will be processed under old rules, which means the deadline in my case is irrelevant. Then again in Dec 2003, the dual assessment started and therefore i have to submit the additional docs. for me to be able to assessed under new rules. Then is there any written directions to visa offices worldwide to extend the deadline that were given to applicants to accomodate the dec 2003 ruling? Also, Did the visa offices worldwide not processed any applications between the period April/MAy 2003 to Dec 2003? Does any one know how many applicants there are worldwide who can go for Dual Assessment, may be that way there could be a rough timeframe for Canadian Authorities to complete the processing for all the applicants before processing the new applications?
And lastly, why doesn´t the e-status give any info. on my application status?

I have also applied for canadian immigration in April 1999 in HONGKONG. I have already sent all the documents demanded by consulate general in the month of Oct.2003 which includes my certificates of language proficiency. But so far I have listened any word from embassy. Please inform me what to do and whom to contact.

I heard from the person I am sponshoring that she is rejected because of insufficient experience. how can I follow up my application, so I don´t have to go through the process of applying here in Canada. its too long .
