Sunit, the only way this can be answered is if you contact cic, even then I am not sure if the office in Canada would have that information. Your best option would be contact India yourself.

Looking at the stats from previous years CIC has exceeded it´s planned immigration levels and in some years they have not met the levels in some categories.

Please visit this link for more info:
http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/rma/dpr/03-04/CI-CI/CI-CId3401_e.asp

The lower and upper targets for spouses, partners and children in 2003 was 41,000 to 44,500, however immigration granted visa to 49,487 applicants that year. Therefore, although the quota might be meet for one category in a particular region does not mean that all is over for the year.

Although CIC has backlog cases, not everyone who is in the backlog will be granted visa that year. You might have someone with a simple case that gets approval and visa in hand in a few months, while you might have someone whose file takes years to go through the process. I don?t believe anyone on this forum can offer definite answers for immigration, we offer guidance and support and suggestions to make the process easier.

I have spent the last 45 minutes searching the CIC website and some of the embassy websites. (that is how pissed off I am about the rumour stuff) I find no press release or any other notice to say the quota is full.

There is absolutely no reason to withhold an application.

After reading on the forum, I understand why the Call Centre Rep do not get into details or answers what if questions.

I have come to the conclusion that the process will take as long as it takes, we cannot try to pressure the processing officer, we have no control or power, therefore why hit your head against a brick, when you, don´t know what the outcome might be.

I still didn´t get my answer. Is this a rumour or is there any reality in this?

Here´s the story
Spouse case sent to CPC-Mississauga on June 17th; Approved and sent to CHC-New Delhi on July 5th.

After that, I haven´t heard anything. Not even an acknowledgement. Is it a normal practice?
