Subject: Help me!!
  hi guyz!!

I have a question which isn´t related to immigration, i thought, as in this forum there are people from both US and Canada,i felt appropriate to get suggestions from you alll...

Getting back to thing,

I had been staying in canada for past 3 yrs and have an Ontario Driving License,

On my visit to US, Last week i got 2 tickets while i was driving in here, One was a speeding ticket, which was 25 miles over the speed for about 210 $ in the state of Missouri,

And on the same day got another ticket for about 75 $ for failing to yield to Cops in the state of Illinois.

I was just wondering if i should pay 285$, or just ignore it, as im having Canadian Drivers License, hoping that it wont have any adverse affects on my history.........

Please advise me.....

You should pay your tickets b.coz you may get into trouble when driving again in USA. I have no idea if Canada and USA has some link with driving records but morally you should pay your ticket or file an appeal to get some deduction in the amount.

You should pay, else the two mentioned states will issue an arrest warrant aginst you and the next time you are in either of these states and are stopped by cops, they will put you in jail...no questions asked. Pay the fees!

I agree. Unless you know for certain that you will never again return to the states, you should pay your fines.

Basically, if you ignore the fines, then you live your life. Until, well, you have to drive to USA for a funeral, a wedding, or even if possibly you have to briefly stop there while flying. If a police officer has any interaction with you and checks your record, then you will be looking at jail time.

Dipti, does that stand for dip----? If want to you continue your life disobeying the law and putting other people in danger, just ignore the tickets and who knows, you might just get lucky and get a short term jail sentence. Grow up and get off this site ASAP!

Dipti:

You have to pay your tickets. Your driving record can be tracked from any where from N America. Vehicles stolen from Canada cannot be registered in US and vice versa. Every thing being computerised (and networked), does not matter where you are living, but the info can easily be traced.

BTW, if you are willing to do something illegal why do you you need public opinion?

Come on, Steve. Two tickets in one day! What about the other people on a road? I gave her an advise to pay the tickets and stop driving. What´s wrong with that???
