First my sincere thanks to all of you folks who are so helpful and sharing their experience and thoughts. Hats off! this forum is really worth to spend time.

Timeline

Got interview - AUg 2004
Medical - Nov 2004
PP Req - 4 Aug 2005
PP sent - 15 Aug 2005
PP got by - 27 Aug 2005

I have few questions and appreciate if you can share your thoughts

1. I live in US on non immigrant visa, can I do my canadian landing and come back to US on the same day?.
2. Is it mandatory that I have to give an address in canada before I enter? as I do not know anybody in canada?. Do they mail the permanant residence card to US?
3. Do I have to show the cashier check for supporting myself or my american bank info should be fine?
4. Also as I am planning to come back to US after landing do I have to declare the stuff I have as I am not taking anything for landing?

Also any advise for new immigrant.

Thanks again friends.

Cheers
cnd

1.Yes you can, that´s not a problem. Keep in mind that the whole landind procedure might take up to 3 hours.
2.You need to find somebody in Canada. They cannot send your PRC abroad.
3. Your american bank info is fine.
4. When I did my landing that was this may they did not anything about my staff. I prepared
?things to follow list? but they did not ask for it so I am not sure what to advise.

Hi cnd,
I also have the same question as Steve. It took almost 9 months after medicals for the PP request! Wow, that seems a long time. Did anything happen in those 9 months? Was it the time it took for BG check to be completed?

Thanks

KG

They will give you SIN application papers at the landing office but I am afraid you cannot apply there. You can go to the local SIN office or you can mail your papers as well.
