I´m applying as a skilled worker and my problem is that I´m a mexican who overstayed my US student visa. Will that be a problem because on the background declaration I´m supposed to indicate my status in the residence country. Do they disclose this information with anyone? thanks

oh my (in reply to: Tough Situation) you lie and Canada finds out, they will toss out your application with no second chance ever! If you tell the truth, you risk deportation(?) I would not risk lying to CIC and hope for the best. This is not an ´expert opinion´ just my gut.

(in reply to: Tough Situation) But I´m in USA and applying through mexico - I thought it does not concern them as long as one is not a criminal.

decisions (in reply to: Tough Situation) you have likely answered your own question. I don´t think you are going to get a guaranteed answer from anyone on this forum about what will happen. You must decide what risks you are willing to take and be prepared to live with the consequences- either way.

hello (in reply to: Tough Situation) i do not think the canadian immigration authorities will disclose your status to u.s. authorities. if u wanna be sure, u may probably want to speak with a canadian immigration attorney further about this issue. best wishes!
