I got my CAIPS note last Friday afternoon. Actually the information shown in CAPIS is very simple.
Our background checks in Canada were initialized on the same day as our medicals issued. I took only 6 days to complete.
I did my fingerprint in Canada and it took 100 days to reach at Buffalo even though I was not asked to do it.
The medicals results took 2 months to reach at Buffalo.
The latest day shown on CAIPS is the BF?D 18-03-2005, which is only one BF?D. After that, there is no any record. It is hard to tell what was going on for the rest of 5.5 months until I got my PPR on Aug.25.
Just a reminder of my timeline below for your convenience.
AOR ---- Mar. 2004
IA and Medicals ---- Oct. 2004
PPR ---- Aug.25, 2005

I once requested my status via fax in early June but no reply neither record shown on CAIPS.

Can you most all the relevant sections from your caips here, it will be a guide to all Canada students myself, hell, mountains, boss, etc etc. We would certainly appreciate.
Atleast someone had got PPR after this long.

For my case, there are 7 sections in total in my CAIPS:
1. DOC: list all requested documents after IA and the time they reached at Buffalo; background check initial day; the brief information about principal applicant and the lists of documents extracted from your application package; the detail points you are granted.
2. NOTES: blank
3. MED: status of medical assessment.
4.SUM: the summary of the above information.
5. FOSS
6. VALDATES
7. PERS
5-7 are repeated information.
I believe there are many applicants in this forum had CAIPS note and please correct me if some wrong information I provided here.
BTW, i missed the other BF"D day 18-08-2005. The letter of passport request dated on 15-08-2005 that is three days ahead of this BF"D.

My CAIPS show BF date of 18/08/2005 as well, however, nothing changed in the online status since that date. Still shows that they started my application in August of 2004, that is all.
