Subject: Caips file asked by sponsor or spouse?
  Somebody could help me?

How should I ask for the caips notes to know how my spouse´s application is handled in Beijing :

1. Should I write my name (I am sponsoring) and the file number that they gave me in Mississauga (my e-client)?

OR

2. Should I write my spouse´s name and the fine number that, I suppose, will be given in Beijing?

On internet, I can have some information with my e-client number.

I thank you for your help.

Of course, when there will be some new information in my file, I will share them with you hoping that it will help somebody else

the release of information is to allow a Canadian citizen (you) the right to look at the file regarding your spouse. In order for this to happen, she must give CIC permission. Therefore, she is filling in the top of the request, and she is telling CIC that you can have access to the file. Type of immigration application is not relevant (sponsor, skilled worker etc) Hope that helps
