Well here´s the story...
First off I´m a 19 year old HS grad, not sure if that helps or hinders me heh.
I´ve been in a long-distance relationship with a girl from Ontario for over a year now. Basically what I´m interested in knowing, is with a limited work history, video store/super market/data entry, and no family, am I even eligible? I´ve been told there´s 2 ways I could go about it, either apply for a partner-visa, and she´s agreed to sponsor me, or go ahead with the Skilled worker visa and hope for the best.
In my situation, what advice can you provide for me to possess a solid application for permanent residency. I´ve been told you need to have an employer within the first 3 months of residency, is this true? 3 months seems to be plenty of time so I´m not worried, just interested.
If I´m being too vague or leaving anything out don´t hesitate to ask :)
Thanks,
Jay

(in reply to: Immigration Inquiry) I definitely would go with the partner-visa, much better chance, if you have enough points. With the work visa, there are a lot more complications, especially at your age. There´s no such thing as having to find work within 3 months. The best of luck.

(in reply to: Immigration Inquiry) Take the test to see if you qualify as a Skilled worker:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/index.html
Your Canadian partner can sponsor you if :
1) She becomes your Spouse,
2) You are Common-Law Partners, OR
3) You are Conjugal Partners
Visit the following link for requirements of the above categories.
