Subject: Passport back from CHC-New Delhi
Hi Everyone,

Please share your experience of receiving visa stamped passports back from New Delhi. My spouse whom I sponsored from Canada was requested for the passport last week which was sent last week as well and I haven´t heard anything yet.

BE PATIENT~ it has only been a week.....stop worrying. It will only make you ill. It should take 2-3 weeks.
Just relax and do something to take your mind off the wait.
All will be OK!!!
Congrats on the visa....I hope you survive the wait!

CHEERS!

Hey Rachunek,

You are an awesome person. Thanks for being a support always. I really appreciate it. I remember you wrote that you have come across people who got it back in a week. I was wondering if I could be that lucky too.

Thanks.

Sumit, in New Delhi they ask for the passport before they do the background checking - not sure why it happens this way. Your spouse´s passport could be returned in 2 weeks or 2 months - really unpredictable.

Hey Rachunek,

Would it be a good idea to go to India and bring my spouse along. It´s going to be her first travelling outside the country. I might have to take some days off but don´t u think it would be a great support for her? She would eb leaving her whole family which is very emotional as well. What do u say. Nothing official, I just want your personal advice.

My wife is leaving her family tomorrow...I wish I could be there for her....to help her with everything.
I will be waiting patiently at the airport...with flowers!

I think you should go and be there to bring her. It would be so great for her and for you.I wish I could have been with my wife but she has been to Canada twice before and she has travelled extensively so she should be OK.

If your wife is in India then she would have included a police check and that should be it. I would say you have 2-3 weeks until she gets the visa.

I wish you the best of luck in life......it will be so wonderful when your wife arrives and her life may begin.
I am so excited about my wife coming tomorrow....I have not been sleeping.

Thanks Sharon.....everything is done...except a few groceries tomorrow..... and I will get the flowers tomorrow.....gotta be fresh. We are worried about the remnants of Hurricane Katrina...now a tropical depression...she could bring lots of rain to the area tomorrow. We will hope she steers a little more east and a little more south.

I have not been sleeping well....I have got up at 7:30 the few mornings and walked 6 km to get my mind off the anticipation. I hope to sleep tonight...maybe a couple of shots of vodka before bed.

I spoke with her today on the phone and she said "See you tomorrow"...that was weird to hear but so GREAT!!!!
It used to be "see you soon".

I hope everyone´s process goes smoothly and painlessly. The key is getting your mind off the wait. Do something to keep yourself occupied.

Good luck to everyone here.
