  Hey Sharon

My wife arrived safe and sound. Her plane was right on time...actually THREE minutes early. She looked so great coming down the ramp at the arrivals. I dont know how she handled the HEAVY bags but she did. What a trooper!!
It was about a 1 hour and 25 minute wait for me from the time she landed to the time she came through the doors at arrivals.
She said her IMMIGRATION interview was short and sweet. Asked her to verify info they had and then she gave them my address for her PR card and they did not even look at the "GOODS" list. They gave her a nice WELCOME TO CANADA package and sent her on her way.

We had a busy morning today. Went to apply for SIN card and then health card. That was all quick and painless. Had the forms filled out for her already and she had all required documents.

I think she will nap today since she had a 26 hours day yesterday and did not sleep well last night. She is all unpacked and excited.
Our neighbours dropped off a bottle of sparkling white wine for us today. That was thoughtful.

I wish you luck with your upcoming visit, Sharon. Thanks for being so great on this forum. You have helped so many people and they all appreciate it. Keep smiling! Keep up the positive feelings here.

I will not disappear so if anyone has any questions about the process, just ask. I am no expert but I can give you insight into what to do and tell you everything we did to make our process fast. We were lucky to have it done in just over 4 months.Anyone applying for spousal from Warsaw, Poland, I can help a little more.

Stay calm, be cool and relax. That is the best advice I can give.
AND follow all instructions very carefully and check all documents for signatures and all needed info.

CHEERS!

Rachunek... thank you for stopping in to say hi and give us a report. what a nice thing to read when we spend so much time wondering if our ordeals will ever end.

Looks like my guy might even come sooner than I thought. I will know later today but it could be as soon as Tuesday! I am scrambling. Have not arranged any time off work, my house is dirty (a girl thing) and there was so many thinks I hoped to do to make his arrival special. I suspect most of those plans will be out the window.

who cares... as long as I see his lovely face.

yep, go to take at least 3--4 weeks vacation, even I got 2 weeks, you at least 6--7 weeks annual right?
Sep is the best time to travel in B.C, not too cold, neither too hot, have a road trip or something.

you can use my car, if you come to Vancouver Island

Rachunek, I am so glad all went smoothly! It sounds like the perfect landing and homecoming for your wife :)

That hour and a half waiting for her to come through the doors must have felt like forever!

Congrats to you both, and the very best of wishes!

4 more sleeps for me. I am soooo excited and nervous at the same time. I have not seen my guy for 18 months. The anticipation is almost too much.

R... does your girl have really bad jetlag?

She had it bad yesterday....she woke up at 4am and stayed up...then yesterday she napped a little and then went to sleep at 11 pm and woke up at 8 am. She seems OK now but she could still crash today sometime.
She is doing really well....getting used to clothing sizes here.
I hope your 4 sleeps go by fast....it will be a good 3 months for you!
Have fun! Be good! If you can´t be good, be careful.
Keep your stick on the ice!

I think I am going to plan absolutely nothing for a few days. Maybe a trip to the grocery store to buy the things he recognizes and likes. Maybe a trip in the evening to the top of Cypress bowl which is the most glorious vantage point to see the city of Vancouver. Show him the city and say welcome. Beyond that...I think I will just let him get his days and nights straightened around. He has a 13 hour flight with a 6 hour layover. Not a nice trip even in the same time zone!
