Just received my IELTS Results for the 08/13 Vancouver sitting:
L : 8.5 (in line with expectations, missed 2-3)
R : 8.0 (Below Expectation, was expecting 9 or 8.5)
W : 8 (in line)
S : 8 (in line, It went very well except that I only spoke for approx 70 seconds on the given topic)
OverAll : 8
Anyway, who cares, that gives me 16 for Language and 72 total. Sending in my applcation in a week !
Thanks guys

(in reply to: got IELTS Results) I just did mine last week in Kitchener, Ontario. I think i did well on L and R only, and so so on W and S. Hope i still can get 7 on those two parts and have a total point of 16 for my skilled worker application.
Can anyone give some comments about whether the result you receive is usually "higher" or "lower" than your first expectation?

(in reply to: got IELTS Results) I would say I was being too optimistic expecting a better score. But in the end, I guess they judge you correctly. Being from a non English speaking country and learning English mainly thru experience, I can NOT be a PERFECT English user.
L & R are objective tests so one can hope to get a certain mark, but you never know where you made a mistake. one mistake is sometime enough to bring your score down by 0.5 mark in L & R.
I would say, You´ll get a score in line with how good you are. That may or may not be in line with your "Expectations"
(Unless you really made a blunder somewhere)
