  Celine Dion donates $1 million US to victims of Hurricane Katrina

MONTREAL (CP) - Pop mega-star Celine Dion will donate $1 million US to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina, which ravaged several southern U.S. states this week
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When will Bush´s oil friends donate 1% of their oil companies´ multi-billion dollar profits? Probabaly never.
The war cost 1 billion $ a week, the white House has his priorities, and no, obviously, it´s not the workers of Louisiana and Mississipi.
Watch, the oil companies will declare record gross earnings this year and the Bush administration will be giving them billions in tax credit and after writing off the storm damages will end up with flat earning reports in their next public earnings declaration.
Dear departure bay
You are the star of this forum; you posted many for the last 2 days.
And I see that you?re more wise than some people who try to ignore others just because they don?t have an Identity and wannabecanadians.
I hope that the crazy Bush will stop this war and do his best to save people?s life in US and Iraq.
DB is absolutely right.
Why do you see gas prices rising? More steeply in the vicinity of the affected states..
that is because the Oil companies would not give up any part of their profits. They will keep thier margins intact even in the middle of crisis of this scale.
Sara: I´m sorry if I´ve offended you because I choose to ignore comments such as the one mentioned by Anonymous above. I believe that my point when that was mentioned was that wonderful posters such as DB, Sharon, Rachunek, etc keep up my faith in the humanity on this board. I tend to get bogged down by the hatred and ignorance that is sometimes spewed by certain individuals, and since I have no place for such negativity in my life, I have decided to ignore it rather than allow it to eat away at me and steer me away from this forum, which I otherwise love and rely on for information and occasionally for laughter. The same is true in my daily life. In no way does this mean that I am not "wise" or that I ignore the realities of life or of politics; rather, I feel quite "wise" now that I am beginning to draw the line between staying informed and dropping dead of a heart attack from stress. I do try my best not to judge others; please refrain from judging me on one simple comment (which, in fact, was supposed to be a positive one).
