Has anyone here taken the TEF. I am taking it very soon. I was curious if anyone else in this forum could share their experience.

I took the TEF in May and it was ok. There are easy and diffucult questions and sections so that you can still score points even if your French is pretty basic. The only thing is that you get penalized for incorrect answers, so it is better not to guess and stay on the safe side. You can also save a bit of time by skipping the questions you know you have a low chance of getting. The speaking part was also broken into an easier and a more difficult parts so that you speaking level is assessed adequately.
Although this may be test center-specific but I suggest booking in advance because the earliest date I could register for was about a month and a half away. It takes about a month for the results to get back to you, which could make you miss the deadline CIC gives you.

At what point in time did you get a request for TEF during the processing? Right after the IA?

USA- I was asked to take the TEF less than a month after AOR.
