Subject: Re: Immigrating to Quebec
Our family moved to Montreal last year and had a bad time there. Although I speak French and tried to aplly for various jobs but received no feedback. It seemed we have wasted our time in the province of Quebec. It was a total difference from what the quebec immigration website is advertising. My wife had to wait 5 months before joining the French language class. At last we decided to move to Ontario, where we can get something to do for living. The real Canadian life is different from the one made up by CIC.

please help (in reply to: Re: Immigrating to Quebec)
Hi,

I am in the process of immigration to Quebec. I have two very important questions. I would really really appreciate your answers!
1. How long after you moved to Quebec you received your Permanent Residence Card/Green card?
2. If I want to move from Quebec to another part of Canada, could there be any problem (are there any restrictions which can keep me in Quebec). Is the Permanent Residence card the same as Ca Permanent Residence card?

Thanks a lot for your help!

1. The moment you arrive in Canada, no matter where you arrive, you become permanent resident of Canada.

2. In Canada, you can move every day, if you want. You are FREE to do what you want. So it means that if you decide one day to go to another province, you just go. And if after a while you decide to come back in Quebec, you just come back. Nobody ask you anything.

The only problem may be with the health insurance. When you arrive in Quebec (and I think it is like that in some provinces but not all provinces) you have to wait 3 months before being able to have the health insurance. That is why you are invited to have a personnel health insurance for those first 3 months. But if you are covered by the Quebec health insurance and you move to another province, I think that you do not have to wait another 3 months in the new province.

I hope that this will help you.

Good luck
