Subject: Getting married?
  Hello I have a quick question -

I am about to get married to my canadian partner - I am non-canadian citizen. After we get married in canada will i be allowed to stay while i get my immigration forms together or will i be subject still to the 6-monthly visitation rights only where i will have to leave canada before seeking re-entry
any help would be appreciated
thanks

If you file an inland application, you can remain in Canada while your application is being processed. A couple restrictions to consider with this route, you have to remain IN Canada while it´s processing (or risk not being let back in), and there are NO appeal rights under this class.

From everything I´ve heard, an overseas (outside Canada) application is quicker and safer (your partner would have the right to appeal should your case be refused for whatever reason). However, the inland option does allow you to be together. It depends on your circumstances which would work best for you.

Hope this helps.
