Hi everybody,
I have passed medicals me and my wife in June 2005, and still waiting for our passport request, does anybody have any updated information about timelines between medicals and visa in Damascus office? and is there anything to be done to speed up the process?

is there a way to convince the canadian authorities to move the Immigration prossecing center from damascus to say lebanon or even cypus.... as most of you may well know.. relationships between syria and lebanon are not so great anymore and lebanese citizens are being put through a hell lot of hassel and intimidation at the syrian border... i fear things will get wors.... plus maybe proseesing times may improve if the immigration offices where located in a more progresive countray... cyprus would be my choice since i can asure you that the lebanese are not that better than the syrians when it comes to coruption... the lebs are probably wors especialy because of the nature of lebanons secterian devisions.. :(....
it took my ex-wife about 4 years to have her aplication fully prossed and on her way to canda...

There are No immigration offices in Cyprus or Lebanon.. besides Background check starts after receiving the Initial assessement.. so mainly after an interview.. or a waiver..
Quebec processes faster immigration requests.. it used to be the opposite when I applied in 2001..

Hey everyone. Are there anyone from Cyprus? I applied im April 2001 bus class in London but in 2004 the file was transferred to Damascus. Passed the interview 19/07/05, where we were given medicals and told that they accept our application under the former law. Medical was sent to Paris 23/07/05/ What to do now? Just wait, but it is so hard, every min thinking only about this. Send a letter-request to Damascus? Would they answer? Anyone from yr 2001 who have the same situation could you share your timeline? PLS.
