Subject: Questions...Proof of funds
  Hi Guys,

I really need your help as I am confused with Proof of Funds requirements. I am planning to land in Canada from USA in first week of October. What are the forms I can show my proof of funds?

(1) Can I show my bank statements in USA which mentions US dollars?
(2) Can I carry Cashier´s checks or Travellers Checks or Bank Drafts in US dollars or Do I have to show everything in Canadian Dollars?

I will be obliged if anyone can guide me as soon as possible so I can arrange accordingly..

Thanks.

you dont have to show any thing in canadian dollars. You can carry Cashier?s checks or Travellers Checks or Bank Drafts in US dollars. They know that it is not possible to carry lots of cash so dont worry about any thing. You may carry a small amount in cash and rest as i mentioned above.

Thanks Olek and Steve.

Olek - I tried with search option you have mentioned. However, I was getting more and more confused so I asked the question specificly regarding my scenario.

Steve - Can I show my bank statements as it has sufficient balance to fulfill requirements for settlement money or I have carry bank draft or cashier´s check. Both are the same things.

Please reply.

Thanks.

if the bank statement is recent one then there should be no problem, but to make it solid rock i would prefer to carry a bank draft (if possible)....sometimes people borrow money from fiends and make a statement, if that is not your case then please carry a bank draft, cashier´s check etc.....so that there is no objection at all....

Thanks Steve and Olek.

This helps a lot. I have bank statements with last 6 months to fulfill the requirements for settlement money.

I am planning to use bank statements but still try to make drafts and cashier´s check to use it.

Thanks again for your instant replies.
