Subject: common law partners |
dear Sharon
I want to apply for immigration and want to sponsor my boyfriend as a common law partner. but the problem is that having a partner without marriage is illegal in our country, so does it make any difference for the CIC in their decision? please help

common law (in reply to: common law partners) I believe Canada bases its decision on the characteristics of your relationship, not the laws of your country. A large number of immigrants are going to Canada because of its more progressive view of relationships. You should go ahead and apply.
