Subject: Medical Waiver...
  Hi all,

We are all happy for PP IS BACK.. He mentions that though his medicals were expired and CIC took time to conduct BG check his time frame was actually extended..

Gives a ray of hope for us stuck with BG check.. we may actually aviod going for the medicals again..

Let us all pray to that!!

These are really good news: our medicals expire 3 days ago.
Curious and furious what will happen next. Ordered Caips 2 weeks ago, scary, it will probably say: backgroung checking in process.
Time line: SW, in Canada, 2 family members (grad. students).
applied Oct. 2003.
IA Nov. 2003.
Med. (both MO1) + add. docs sent Sept. 2004.
waiting....nothing......
e-client says: "started to process you application in Nov. 2003"

hell,

Did CIC-Buffalo state anything on time frame for BG check? I just got a fax about 6 months back stating - may take 6-9 months. I guess that is a standard answer.

Wow you have been now waiting for about a year!! I guess I´d have to wait longer!! mine all docs were submitted in Jan 2005.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

we are waiting for almost 2 years, actually, just now it´s taking longer when year after medicals. None of my friend had to wait longer than 6-8 months. And strange thing- "the additional documents" CIC requested a year ago were a proof of funds and another filled application which was identical to that one we filled at the beginning, appying for PR (we have electronic copy to compare).
Good luck to everybody.

:)
we did not request information by fax before, but 2 weeks ago sent inquiring e-mail, the reply was: "We have requested background information from other government offices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot respond to requests for the
status of your application before this information is received."
The only good thing that BF´s date in Caips was Sept 13th, 2005, 3 days after medicals expiration date, probably it meens that they had to take a look at our file. After that e-mail do not expect to get PR, but at least some information.
Will be waiting what new Caips will say?
:)
