Hi guys,
What is your comment on the BG Check procedure?
It would be wonderful if you can comment on this plz........
SUBJECT::
I am wondering whether the background+security checks begin immediately after Initial Assessment or it starts only after they receive medical results or only when they get the ROLF and addtl. documents...Plz let me know.

OK, for what it?s worth, here is my experience:
I applied as a skilled worker. I?m a US citizen, and applied to Buffalo. My AOR is dated Sept. 30. After I received my AOR but before I received my IA I requested my CAIPS notes. In my CAIPS notes under BSEC and SEC there was a "1" and a date October 17th or something I think. Which seemed to indicate that I had passed my security clearance on that date, which was long before I ever received my IA.
So in my case at least, the security check was done before the IA.

VERY INTERESTING THREAD!
After ordering for caips, and looking up various websites I have concluded that inorder to get a passport request one has to clear the 4 factors in CAIPS ie all the below factors must be "1"
BDEC 1 17/8/2005
SEC 1
CRIM 1
SECURITY DECESION 1 17/8/2005
All the above start after a postive IA with interview wavier. Mostly a month or two after IA. Long long does it take could be anyones guess from 3 months to 2 years. Your guess is as good as mine.
