Subject: What should I do after delay for 4 months...
I got a letter on May 2005 from Buffalo CIC saying my application for Canada PR is complete. I was required to send passports of my family. It also bolded the sentence "fail to do so soon could delay your process". But I did not take any action at that time.

Today is Sep 2005. I was thinking whether I need to do it. Does anyone know if there is any consequence for my 4 months delay?

Thank you very much!

When did you get your medicals done? If it has been over a year since you got your medicals done then you and your family may have to get them done again.

Anyway just send your and your family´s passport to Buffalo as soon as possible and hope for the best.

You can even go to Buffalo personally to get the visa on the same day. You can go on any Tuesday or Thursday.

Thanks for help! And more about landing... (in reply to: What should I do after delay for 4 months...)
Thanks very much! I did medical exam Nov 2004. I guess I need hurry up! BTW, is that safe to send by mail (I mean express or priority)?

I put Toronto as my landing city but I am in Boston and intend to go to Montreal instead. I heard people saying it is not appropriate since Quebeq may have different requirements. Also if drive to land, which is better in terms of causing no trouble - by our own car or a rental car?

If I want to land for a day or two then come back to US what do I need? I am currently holding H1B visa but will soon expire (Oct 1 2005) and I will use an EAD to work for a while.

Thanks again for help. It is so fast and accurate!

Why did you wait 4 months?

Quebec does have a different procedure.

Dear framin....

Since you are in Boston, I suggest you submit your passport personally in Buffalo.

Also, I am not so sure but I think you cannot change your landing place from non-Quebec to Quebec (Toronto to Montreal).///goodluck.

Since Quebec has different requirments with regards to the other provinces, you cannot successfully land there. I also agree with Joe05 that you go there personally to have your passports instead of sending it by post. So far luck has been on your side, it might not remain for forever

Hi Framin,

I agree with Joe05. As you are close to Buffalo you should go in-person to get your passport stamped. Make sure you go on a Tuesday or Thursday and reach the consulate early (around 7 am).

After you get the visa you should land in Toronto or any other place except Quebec. Once you have landed you can move to Montreal.
