A lot depends on the country where you have submitted your application.

When you get IA you will be told if an interview is required in your case or not.

Generally getting an interview will add approx. 12 months to the overall processing time. Again depending on which country you have applied from the time can increase or decrease.

Interviews or interview waivers are determined after I.A. You got interview means you are done with I.A...get ready for interview now......you should have received the the medical forms along with interview notification.....if not you will receive shortly.....

hi degen95...in USA medicals should be done before interview...however, I also know that in some countries medicals are done after interview, if they will be asked to do the medicals after the interview then it means that they passed the interview. Here in the USA, medical forms are sent together with the IA and medicals need to be done before interview.....

I.A means Initial Assessment that refers: To check your application if every thing is in order, documents are complete, application fees are paid and other things related to accuracy of application. If Consulate finds every thing perfect and passing scores are eqaul or more than required then they usually waive interviews. But if there is any thing that needs a little or more explanation then they call for interviews. I hope this answers your query.
