| Subject: Will I be refused entry at POE? |

Ok, I´m marrying my fiance this weekend in the US. We are then coming back up to Canada to begin the PR application process, I already have most of the forms filled out, and background checks received.
Immigrations at the border told me that as soon as I have the marriage certificate in hand they will give me a year visitor record (to apply for PR). Is this valid, or will I be denied entry at the POE?
I figured it was a year because if they only gave me 6months I would have to reapply anyway, so it saves both of us time/money.
