Subject: Canadian PR Quota
I have never heard anything about a quota for PR Canada. Never seen one in any official website and never heard this from any immigration lawyer. Does anyone have a link to an official website stating that there is a quota for Canadian PR?

Thanks

I think we´ve been through this a dozen times. There is a quota only for skilled worker´s class. There are no quotas for family class.

It the quota worldwide or by region? Any indication it has been met in 2005?

If you scroll through some older posts here, you´ll see some discussion on this. A few people in the skilled workers class have received letters that they met the quota for 2005 and will continue processing their applications in January 2006.

Because I knew someone else would ask the same question I booked marked the following CIC papge. This the target range for PR for 2005-2006.

For spouses the traget is 46-50K, but it they had completed the application and they are over the 50k range they will still grant PR, unlike SW applicants who have to wait for the next year.

Hope this helps, BTW, get a different Lawyer.

I had read about some people in the Philipines receiving such a letter. However, the numbers in Katrina´s post are worldwide. Any inidication that the worldwide quota has been met in 2005? That would certainly derail my plans...

The question was just about quote and is it´s existence. My post simply confirms that the government set targets/quota for each category of PR applicants from that the targets are further divided by processing offices. Some regions may use up their target for the year ahead of other because of the volumn of applicants.
