(in reply to: Maxm.wait for In-Canada applicants) I got landed in 97. I was there on a working holiday ( from Australia ) and my wife sponsored me for PR. It took 1 year to the day! I never had to leave and re-enter Canada to be landed. They called me into the CIC office in Regina and landed me there. Then when my marriage fell apart in 99 I decided to leave Canada and return back to Australia. I love both countries :) Now I´m getting married again next month and we decided on Canada so now I have to apply all over again. This time I will apply from out side Canada. If for some reason I can´t get PR again then I will sponsor my wife to Australia. I´m just a little concerned that being a former sponsored resident might have a negative affect on my application. But then it should not as I´ve never been in trouble with the law and am of good character

(in reply to: Maxm.wait for In-Canada applicants) I forgot to add that I got a letter about 4 weeks after sending in my application saying my application was approved in principle. I then didn´t hear anything for 11 months. I got a letter one day saying my application was complete and to call the Regina CIC office and book an interview time. I went in and they asked for my passport, stamped it and then I signed the record of landing and that was it.
