Subject: awaiting decision from buffalo...question re; time
I have a question and hope someone with this experience can offer some insight. our case is this. My partner and I applied skilled worker nov 2003;and along with our case was a request for criminal rehabilitation, as my partner had a dui that was resolved in 1997. we were asked so far with an interview waiver to submit our medicals and final documents and did so jan 2005. we have heard nothing since then. We finally sent an e mail to CIC, and they actually responded. The first one was very brief in re: our file. it said " pending right of permanent resident fee. we responded back and asked if that meant we were close to a decision and they again responded with " your file needs to be reviewed by an officer first and we will then advise when and how to pay the right of permanent resident fee." what does this sound like to all of you? we don´t really know at all where we are in this process. it seems very slow all of a sudden. thanks for any input. tim

it´s a completely different response from that many of us did get. Our´s dated Sept 6th, 2005 was: "We have requested background information from other government offices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot respond to requests for the
status of your application before this information is received."
We applied in Oct2003, AOR Nov. 2003,
Meds and POLF Sept. 10th, 2004.
Nothing since then.......
My suggestions to you:
1. order the CAIPS to figure out how is it going.
2. May be sent another e-mail request with a question: should you pay ROLF right now????????

Good luck
