Subject: IA & Finger Prints
  All:

I am expecting to recieve my IA letter in 2-3 months (AOR March 05). Can I go ahead and get my FBI finger prints in order to be ready to submit it along with the other documents requested in the IA ? Can I submit the FBI finger prints my self with the other documents through the mail or the FBI should forward my records directly to CIC (when CIC request them with the Police Certificate Letter). In other words, should I wait for CIC to give me the Police Certificate Letter for me to get my finger prints then ask FBI to send them to CIC or I can do this NOW and send them my self latter with the docs.

Your answers will be highly appreciated
Good Luck to all

You have asked many questions. You can go ahead and get your FBI fingerprint record done. However if you do not get your IA in say next 90 days, your fingerprints might be obselete.

FBI does not forward your prints to CIC..you have to do it.

right on.. I´ve heard people going through the finger prints proces two or three times just coz they get expired and you never exactly know when you´re gonna get the IA. An expired record mean nothing to CIC so better wait for IA and then go for what´s asked.

I don´t think you have to do police clearance more than once for all places. It happens only for the place you are currently living where you can commit crime within the time gap. If you are in US, you may do FBI again. If you are in canada, I don´t think they ask for FBI again.

Advance fingerprinting (in reply to: IA & Finger Prints)
Anonymous: I think doing the advance finger printing is a good idea. It only costs about $18 to get the prints and with all the money you will put out through this process, it is not much. That way if you get your medicals done quickly you can have the whole packet back to them in a week or two, instead of wasting the time waiting for the prints to get back. I wish I had done what you suggested. I ended up losing a few weeks waiting for the prints. Best of luck.

Sorry for my ignorance but I submitted my FBI clearance together with my application. So, they will ask me to do it again after IA ?

Thanks
