About 1,900 cruise ship tourist from San Diego California, stopped at Nanaimo for about 10 hour yesterday. Most of them are seniors. Hand them some visitor guides of Nanaimo, and chat about how they like Nanaimo after touring around.

One lady told me, if there is heaven, god should not bias Vancouver Island residents, because we have already lived in heaven for such long time.

A lot of visitors came to Nanaimo for second time, this time, searching for real estate information, relocation package.

Some of them are from North Hollywood, Santa Monica, I asked them, come on, I even wanna go to visit your place, how comes you wanna live in Nanaimo, which is a small town. They told me they feel tired about those busy metropolitans, rather live in Nanaimo, quite, nice community with no crime.

I tried to figure out, we often think there are a lot of Indian or Chinese immigrate to Canada, I will say in Vancouver Island, there are more American immigrate to Canada, just because they are invisible sometime, because of language or appearance.

Interesting stuff, but you know, it is suitable for seniors and rich people who was to run out of the busy life of appointments and meetings. For people of your age, I don´t think it is a good place at all to settle in, for now. It is good that you love your place, but in the long run, you gotta go to big cities where there are opportunities. It is useless for people who want to earn money. If you don´t want money, if you don´t want to look for opportunities and if you want to live on social security, probably small villages like this is suitable.

Departure Bay, Honestly I just admire your demeanor. Do you ever get sad or get into "low gear"? Teach me the trick. I wish I can be always happy about life just like you do.
