Subject: Hi, Could any one help me regarding my conf...
  Hi,
Could any one help me regarding my confusing question.
I´m studding in Toronto and I have recently landed in the country around a month ago.
My spouse also accompanying me and now my questions are:

(1) Can I apply from Canada for the Permanent Residency on my previous education and work experience.

(2)If yes, can I directly apply from Ontario or the place of apply would be different?

(3)I heard the process time from Canada is 18 months. Is it true?

(4)Can a student work on student visa, I heard the law has been modified and now students can work.

I will highly appreciate if some one answer my questions
thanks

1. Yes you can. As long as you have the documents and paperwork to prove that you were educated and employed legitimately

2. You can apply from Ontario but you will have to put in your application at Buffalo, NY

3. Application times vary from person to person so no one can give you an actual timeline.

4. Check the cic website for more information on this. It varies from place to place. If you are studying full-time, you are allowed to work on campus. Some parts of the country do also provide work-study programs and post-grad work permits (off campus) for upto 2 years. It depends on where you are actually located. Again, check the cic website for accurate information.
