Hi,
Could any one help me regarding my confusing question.
I?m studding in Toronto and I have recently landed in the country around a month ago.
My spouse also accompanying me and now my questions are:
(1) Can I apply from Canada for the Permanent Residency on my previous education and work experience.
(2)If yes, can I directly apply from Ontario or the place of apply would be different?
(3)I heard the process time from Canada is 18 months. Is it true?
(4)Can a student work on student visa, I heard the law has been modified and now students can work.
I will highly appreciate if some one answer my questions

I will answer whatever I know,
1) Yes, absolutely, you can apply for PR, given the situation you get the required points with previous experience and education.
2) Yes, you can apply from Ontario. The place you will have to send your application is Buffalo, NY.
3) If you are an In-Canada applicant, yes, the average wait time is 16 months, but a reasonable size of applicants´ processing time goes beyond that too. But consider 16 months to start with. As you are applying together with your wife, I guess it will be completed soon.
4) (I don´t know abt the present rules)

You will have to send your immigration application to Buffalo, USA. Current processing time from Buffalo is 18 to 34 months.
