why on on earth you need canadian PR when you are an american citizen?

Nevermind aa, anonymous. There are lots of Americans here who are applying for Canadian PR, and we all have our own reasons. I personally find it sad that so few potential PRs have so little understanding about the country they are hoping to move to. Anyway, my time line is just a couple months off of yours:
Application: July 2005
AOR: August 2005
I´m not expecting to hear anything for at least a year, which is disheartening but maybe realistic given the timelines others have shared. I know there are at least a couple others who applied within a week or two of me, too. It will be interesting to see what happens for all of us when "our time" finally comes! :)

Hi wannabecanadian,
I´ve been looking around and I´ve just come to the conclusion that if all goes well it could take about 1 or 2 years, but that´s still much better then many of the other consulates. Besides, it looks like buffalo if putting them through in about 12 to 14 months.
What part of the US are you from and what category did you apply under?
