Subject: The oracle (CIC) speaks
  Following the lead of others who have e-mailed Buffalo, (buffalo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca) I sent an updated email address and also took the opportunity to politely asked about the status of my file. Within one day they replied that they had forwarded the email to the appropriate place and on the third day they informed me, "Your file will be ready for final review by an Officer early 2006."

Since my e-CAS had changed to "medicals have been received" on August 29, 2005, I was hoping for a PPR soon. However, I suppose it is better to have more solid information as opposed to checking e-CAS every day and not knowing if I will hear in a day or a year.

Here is my time in hopes it helps others who are waiting:
App: August 2005;
AOR: October 2005;
IA: May 2005;
Meds/Docs: June 2005;
e-CAS "meds received": August 2005.

It looks like I will be hanging around the blog for a few more months.

Tim,

Thanks for sharing this timeline.
I think you were intending that your App: August 2004 and AOR: October 2004? Or am I misunderstanding something here?

Regards,

BAC

Hi Tim, Exactly the same as mine, but happened one/two months before on every step. Are you an In-Canada applicant?

Ack. Sorry about the wrong dates. Here is a corrected time-line. I am a US applicant through Buffalo.

App: August 2004;
AOR: October 2004;
IA: May 2005;
Meds/Docs: June 2005;
e-CAS "meds received": August 2005.

Thanks Tim!
Looks like I´ve got to wait. My contemplation was that my 7+ year H1 extn comes up in March 2006. If my Canadian PR comes before, I don´t want to go for my H1 extn. Otherwise, I may end up spending on my H1 extn.

Hoping for the best.

Regards,

Bala

So what do you guys think the reason for that. I think the Quota "so called rumour" was correct.

Tim:

Did you order your caips notes any time in the past? What is your BF´D?

I sent a similar mail to Buffalo last week and the reply was : they will look at my file soon. My BF´D is OCt 10, 2005 - so a bit hopeful.

Nothing special..the same old story....

Dear Sir/Madam:

This is in reference to our immigration application (File # XXX) which is in process at CIC Buffalo.

It has been over a year since we did our medicals but have not heard any thing from your office. We would highly appreciate to know the status of our application and the expected date by which our application would be finalized.

Thanks and regards,

Kool

Tim,

Thanks for sharing this with us. I wanted to ask what date was showing in your eclient when you applied which says ´we started processing your case on...."

Was it the August 2004, or Oct 2004 or something in between?

Thanks.
